About Dr. Morstein


Dr. Mona Morstein has been a naturopathic doctor for 29 years. She earned a Summa Cum Laude BS in Foods and Nutrition from ASU in 1984. She graduated from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1988, where she was class speaker at graduation. She then did a year’s residency at NCNM in Family Practice.

Initial Private Practice:
After her residency, Dr. Morstein moved to Great Falls, MT, where she had a thriving clinic, The Great Falls Holistic Health Center. In her years in Montana, Dr. Morstein did dozens of speeches to physicians and all sorts of groups. She also had a weekly cable access TV show called “Natural Health”, and was a bimonthly writer on alternative medicine in the Great Falls Tribune.

Having attained a respectable position in the field of naturopathic medicine, in 2002 she was asked to join Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. Dr. Morstein was Chair of Nutrition at SCNM for 10 years. She wrote and taught the entire nutrition curriculum. She was also the professor for gastroenterology for eleven years and supervised students seeing patients at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center, the out-patient associated with the school.

Current Private Practice:
Dr. Morstein is now back in full-time private practices in Tempe, AZ, at Arizona Integrative Medical Solutions.

This 560 page book is an amazing resource for patients and physicians, and offers an incredibly detailed understandning of diabetes and how to use integrative care to control (all diabetes) or help reverse it (T2DM). She is the founder and Executive Director of the Low Carb Diabetes Association, lowcarbdiabetes.org, a 501c3 education non-profit. She created the best product for patients with insulin and glucose imbalances called “Diamend,” manufactured by Priority One Supplements. She has spoken internationally on diabetes, and has been interviewed on CNBC nationally on using alternative medicine to treat Type 2 diabetes. She is also a lecturer on nutrition and gastroenterological conditions. She has written numerous articles on diabetes, and is one of a handful of naturopathic physicians who has the skill to correctly prescribe insulin for all patients, including pediatrics, and monitor patients on it. She also is an expert on gastroenterological conditions, including SIBO, IBS, GERD, diverticulitis, IBD, gallbladder problems, digestive issues, pancreatitis, food sensitivities, and leaky gut. She has been an exciting speaker on both the first and second SIBO SUMMITs. Her clear, step by step comprehensive protocols has gotten raves from SIBO sufferers. Dr. Mona also has a general family practice, seeing patients of all ages, infants to seniors, both sexes, including acute and chronic diseases.
